Preparation
ePortfolios require instructors to consider both products and processes. In some cases you or your students will have little to no choice about specific products, such as ePortfolio artifacts or ePortfolio software tools. For example, the artifacts may be predetermined by an accreditation agency, while the ePortfolio tool may already be selected by your campus, dean, or department. In other cases, you and your students may have a wide-open field. This will require you to set some guidelines or boundaries, or you may have a hard time grading the ePortfolio assignments! There are also separate timelines for faculty and student processes like preparation, implementation, and assessment. This section will walk you through the preparation stage and help you consider some of these factors.
